Did you know that here at Pater Leadlights we can also provide double and triple glazing in Melbourne for your leadlight windows where required.
Double glazing offers the following benefits:
*Heat loss reduction
*Cool air reduction
*Noise reduction
*Extra strength when safety glass is used.
Double Glazing:
- Leadlights can be double glazed by simply adding a piece of safety glass against the leadlight during the installation process, which will protect it against breakage and adds security when installed as an external window.
- It is important to note that condensation in between the glass is a possibility depending on the situation, though it is not common.
Triple Glazing:
- In order to avoid any potential condensation issues, we can triple glaze your window which also helps with energy rating and reduced sound transferal.
- Triple glazing traps your leadlight between two pieces of safety glass within a sealed unit.
- The finished thickness of a triple glazed unit is 17mm minimum.
- This should be discussed with your window manufacturer on ordering to ensure proper rebate depth.
- Unfortunately not many existing frames are suitable for the extra thickness, so a deepening of the rebate would be required by a carpenter.
- Please do not hesitate to call and discuss your options about double or triple glazing, we would be more than happy to help you.
